> Upon investigation: In the seventh year of the Qianlong reign, He Junzhao of Linfen undertook a restoration and also built the Wenchang Hall and the Lüzu Tower. He added pavilions, corridors, and ornate structures, arranged rockeries, and planted trees, creating the Eastern Garden. His fellow townsman Qu Fu wrote an inscription that was carved into stone to commemorate this. In the years of Bingzi and others, Wang Tongzhong, a director of the Criminal Ministry, Xu Fuhao, a secretary, and prefects Zhang Zixuan and Liu Fangxuan, among others, restored the temple. It sits at the center of the Baozhang River, facing the Fahai Bridge to the south. Across the bridge on the opposite bank stands a performance stage, with the Ziyun Pavilion to its east. Behind the temple rises the White Pagoda, towering into the clouds. To the right of the pagoda is the Deshu Hall, in front of which stand two ancient ginkgo trees, reputed to be the oldest. To the right of the temple is the Imperial Stele Pavilion. To its left is the garden gate, through which lies a stone terrace, atop which stands a hall—both above and below the terrace. Here, too, are two ancient ginkgo trees, all said to date from before the Tang Dynasty. In front of the terrace, rocks are piled and peonies planted. Behind the hall, in a crevice between rocks, is the "Number One Spring Beyond Comparison." To the left of the hall, a winding corridor leads north to the Spring Rain Hall. To the right of the hall, among the plum-shaped rocks and lake stones, facing south, is the Twin Sunset Temples Tower. To the left of this tower is the Cloud Mountain Pavilion, all situated on the Lotus Flower Causeway. Behind it, along the riverbank to the left, is the Blue Lotus Society, and to the north stretches a row of taverns and pavilions. To the front left of the temple stands the Three Righteousness Pavilion, with the Guanyin Hall to its left, and to the right of the temple is the Hao Duke Shrine.
