宗元鼎，字梅岑，揚州人。別號小香居士。晚居廣陵之東原，自著賣花老人傳略云：手藝草花數十種辰，擔花向紅橋坐賣得錢，沽酒市人笑為花顛。徐釚本事詩

> Zong Yuanding, courtesy name Meicen, was a native of Yangzhou. He also went by the literary name "Lay Buddhist of Small Fragrance." In his later years, he lived in the eastern outskirts of Guangling. In his own brief biography titled "An Old Flower Seller," he wrote: "With my own hands, I cultivate dozens of flowering plants. At dawn, I carry them on a pole to the Red Bridge, where I sit and sell them. With the money earned, I buy wine, and the townsfolk laugh at me, calling me a flower madman."
