> Instructions for Layman Zeng on Practice

道無言說，曾子一唯。門人詰之，忠恕而已。若是衲僧，未敢相許。

> The Way has no words to describe it—Master Zeng simply affirmed it with a single "Yes." When his students pressed him for an explanation, he merely said, "Loyalty and empathy, nothing more." But if it were a monk of genuine understanding, I would not dare to agree with this.
