### 牧牛頌

尋牛𤚱角詢窮雲外，濤聲踏碎谿邊，撩風口笑艸鞋穿，不憚關山路遠。月曉每同月問，霜寒常帶霜旋，何時得遇老南泉？共把家私判斷。

見跡未睹峰前來影，卻憐道左原貧，破錢苔上露痕新，反覆於中細認。乍有乍無欲現，半明半暗猶湮，想伊只在此嶙峋，端的無勞更訊。

> <note place="inline">Seeing the Tracks</note>Before the peak's shadow appears, I pity the poverty along the Way— Breaking the moss upon the coin, fresh dew still gleams, Searching within, again and again. Now there, now gone, as if to appear, Half bright, half dim, still hidden in the mist— I think only here, among these rugged rocks, No need to seek further inquiry.

見牛殘跡多遺石面，吼聲忽聽山腰，春深毛色雜柔條，箇樣靈機誰肖？明月四蹄莫畫，清風兩角難描，謾言知有是今朝，著意收歸始玅。

得牛雨霽谿眉散步，煙消谷口逢渠，依他狂性就他除，入手何須遠慮？全不顧時卻在，些兒動著還無，林泉謾縱意生疏，緊著金鞭莫恕。

> <note place="inline">Catching the Ox</note> After the rain clears, I walk along the stream's edge; When the mist fades, I meet him at the valley's mouth. I follow his wild nature to tame him; Now that I have him, why worry about what's far away? When I don't watch him at all, he's still there; But at the slightest disturbance, he vanishes. In the forests and springs, he grows wild and distant again— Hold the golden whip tight, and show no mercy.

牧牛帶露閒行北澗，和雲散放東坡，細披白雨一青蓑，踏遍山河朵朵。不用風搓繩繫，肯將地畫欄羅？如今趁亦不之他，豈似從前累我？

騎牛歸家浪拍蘆招返含，風搖竹指回家，半鞭倒影走飛霞，者段風流瀟灑。短笛橫吹韻杳，夕陽一曲雲斜，紛紛天際落梅花，溢目韶光俊雅。

忘牛存人棕履常留石闕，玉蹄不到松關，一生活計付潺湲，且了現成公案。放足橫眠白晝，連拳高枕青山，休云萬事轉頭間，未轉頭皆夢幻。

人牛雙忘蕩蕩人牛盡蕩，空空明暗俱空，空無空處未為通，依舊冰河燄凍。況是深居巖壑，不教移步巃嵷，爭來寶殿話吾宗？莫向人前打哄。

返本還源彩散雙眸復睹，笙吹兩耳遙聞，天然呂律諱言勳，太古音回雅韻。素羽重歌白雪，絳桃更潑紅雲，水天一色卻平分，倒浸長空月暈。

入廛垂手夜靜無停月窟，天明獨步雲堆，荷衣拂去帶青來，柳巷花樓不礙。兔角橫穿佛祖，龜毛倒繫風雷，乾坤撥轉笑顏開，功大慵加蓋代。
