故意奪人生命……犯三種罪：故為〔某〕人掘穽，言：「彼陷而死」者，突吉羅；陷而生苦受者，偷蘭遮；死者，波羅夷。故意……犯此三種罪。

> Intentionally taking another's life... incurs three types of offenses: If one digs a pit for someone, thinking, "May they fall in and die," that is a minor offense; if they fall and suffer, that is a serious offense; if they die, that is the gravest offense. Intentionally... incurs these three types of offenses.
