### 雪峰即非禪師道影讚

> Portrait Eulogy for Zen Master Xuefeng Jifei

有臨濟之機用，而不濫行棒喝；有玅喜之波瀾，而不虛施語言。力救時弊，疏通禪源。凜凜乎道韻照冰雪，煌煌乎法化懸朝暾。灼破佛祖肝膽，揭露衲僧頂門。信為黃檗琦之嫡子，徑山容之真孫者也。

> He possessed the sharp wit of Linji, yet did not wield his stick and shout recklessly; he had the profound depth of Miaoxi, yet never wasted words in empty talk. With great effort, he sought to remedy the ills of his time and clarify the source of Chan. His presence was as awe-inspiring as the purity of ice and snow; his teaching shone as brightly as the morning sun. He illuminated the very heart of the Buddhas and patriarchs, and laid bare the essence of the monk's path. Truly, he was the rightful heir of Huangbo Qi and the genuine descendant of Jingshan Rong.
