向上一著，直截承當，操持久遠，從古為難。歷觀前輩，拌捨身命，不顧危亡，千里萬里，求明師勝友，與之決擇大事，動是三二十年，遍試諸難，乃至盡形壽，辨不退轉之心，以願力所持，窮劫不化，亙古如一日者，良由根器猛利，規度恢宏，所以涵養練磨，造詣深遠，一發其用，則光明盛大，為人天之師表，揭日月千昏衢，誠非苟然也。子於般若有緣種，親宗學道，一以古人步履為標榜，猛著精彩，進進向前，到撲不破處，廓然脫體透徹，果能發揮靈智，轉益未來，庶幾不負最初超方本志也。

> One final leap to realization, directly taken up and sustained over time, has always been difficult since ancient times. Looking back at the sages of the past, they risked their lives without fear of danger, traveling thousands of miles to seek enlightened masters and virtuous companions, with whom they resolved the great matter. It often took twenty or thirty years, enduring every kind of hardship, even dedicating their entire lives, nurturing an unshakable resolve. Supported by the power of their vow, unwavering through countless eons, unchanging as though through a single day—this was truly due to their sharp faculties and vast vision. Through such cultivation, refinement, and tempering, they attained profound and far-reaching realization. When they brought this into action, its brilliance was vast and radiant, making them teachers to gods and humans, like lifting a bright sun and moon in the dark paths of the world. This was certainly no accident. You have a seed of affinity with Prajñā wisdom. Having personally taken up the path of the Patriarchs, let the footsteps of the ancients be your model. Sharpen your spirit, advance step by step, until you reach the unbreakable point where, with vast and open clarity, your whole being is thoroughly transparent. If you can truly bring forth your innate wisdom, transforming and benefiting those to come, you will not have betrayed your original resolve to transcend the mundane, made when you first set out.
