### 第十世汾陽善昭禪師

> Master Chan Master Fenyang Shanzhao, Tenth Generation

未曾拶入，遍參知識七十員。放下身心，郡侯八聘堅不起。無奈同門啟封，迸出西河獅子。別立三句，直闡向上宗猷。繼示十同，如箭不離弦矢。末後三徵，迫不得已。停箸蟬蛻報李君，休向圓環覓終始。

> Before entering the gate, I extensively consulted seventy teachers. Letting go of body and mind, I refused eight summons from the local governor, standing firm. Helpless against my fellow disciples' pleas, the seal was broken, and a lion from the West River burst forth. Establishing three distinct statements, I directly revealed the ultimate path. Then showing ten types of resonances, like an arrow never leaving its bowstring. At the end came three interrogations, born of necessity. Setting down chopsticks as a cicada sheds its shell in response to Mr. Li, do not seek beginning or end in a perfect circle.
