### 遊彥山并序

> Roaming Mount Yan

去𡺸闍崛百三十里，有彥山最高，其間溪流百折，疊嶂千重，極頂有古廟，以奉開山神異不測之神。神之子孫將千餘丁，居山之半，習符咒為業，一金枝座主諱亮有者統之。予遊是山時，座主遣使于五十里外相迎，到即延齋，嘉此勝緣，留題以贈。

> From Grdhrakuta Mountain, one hundred and thirty li away, stands Mount Yan, the highest peak. Between its many winding streams and countless folded ridges, an ancient temple sits atop the summit, dedicated to the mysterious and unfathomable deity who established this mountain. The descendants of this deity number over a thousand, living halfway up the mountain, practicing charms and incantations as their livelihood. They are led by a golden-branch abbot named Liangyou. When I visited this mountain, the abbot sent an envoy to greet me from fifty li away. Upon my arrival, I was invited to a meal. Delighted by this fortunate connection, I composed this poem as a token of remembrance.

大川雄入海，人語響霄崢，旭日簷間掛，春雲衣上生。停車逢宿德，延我飽香粳，更羨開山主，千年道愈亨。

> The great river flows mightily into the sea, Human voices echo through the towering peaks. The morning sun hangs between the eaves, Spring clouds drift upon our robes. I stop my carriage to meet an elder of many years, Who invites me inside to share fragrant rice. How I admire the temple’s founding master— His path has flourished for a thousand years, growing ever brighter.
