> Two Poems Mourning the Eight-Fingered Monk

相隨學道白雲層， 棒喝當頭領受曾； 從此更無師我者， 小窗垂泣淚如繩。

> Among white clouds, companions in practice walk the Way, Once having faced the master's stern instruction and received the blow. From then on, no teacher stood above myself alone— But by the small window, tears fall down in strands, like rope.

萬樹梅花竟埋骨， 一輪明月孰傳心？ 遺詩自足流千古， 翠冷香寒憶苦吟。

> Ten thousand plum trees bury his bones in bloom; A single moon, to whom can it pass the mind? His poems alone will flow through endless time— The cold jade and chill fragrance remember their painful rhyme.
