### 和陶答卻非兼似定法

> Harmonizing with Tao, Responding to Quefei, Also Addressed to Dingfa

心性我不得， 物質誰能貧？ 道輕世所貴， 俗棄真所勤。五車競名役， 千里悲行人。 采翳目前誘， 逐逐變轉新。那曾容取捨？ 空自紛厭欣， 遐哉定老宿！ 危坐慈湖津，胸中冰炭消， 忽然成比鄰。 方知蓮花國， 蕩蕩非帝民。

> I cannot gain the mind's true nature, So who can call material things poverty? The Way is light, yet the world holds it dear; The world discards what the true seeker prizes. Five chariots race, driven by fame's demands, A thousand miles, travelers weep along the way. Illusions lure before the eyes, Chasing ever-changing, ever-new pursuits. How can one ever grasp or let go? In vain, we churn with dislike and delight. Far away, the old adept sits still, Calm at the shore of the Kindness Lake. In his heart, ice and coals dissolve, Suddenly, all becomes neighborly. Then you realize the Lotus Land— Boundless, not ruled by worldly kings.
