> Chapter 2: Nature of Emptiness, Unobstructed

> "Nature" refers to a fixed, substantial essence. But why do we speak of "nature as empty"? Because all things and events arise interdependently, without end—thus this fixed, substantial essence is empty and nonexistent. Only this "empty principle of naturelessness" pervades all things, is originally so, and is eternally so. Hence, "only this empty principle of naturelessness" is the true nature of "all things." Therefore, the true nature of all things is merely the emptiness of nature—empty nature—so all things are without "solid obstruction," without "hindrance," without "relative obstruction," and without "finite limitation."
