> Realizing That the Object of Non-Discriminative Wisdom Is Empty

> Know that there are four aspects in the initial realization of the object of focus within the Great Vehicle: the teaching, conviction, determination, and the complete accumulation of merit and wisdom.

> To enter the wisdom of non-discrimination, there are four supports, all taught according to the Mahayana teachings. First, one should rely on a virtuous teacher who teaches the Mahayana, and listen to their instruction—this is the initial support for entering the wisdom of non-discrimination, known as the wisdom of hearing. This shows that one cannot enter this wisdom merely by abstaining from thought or suppressing the mind without extensive learning. Second, based on what has been heard, one should reflect and observe in accordance with the teachings, generating firm conviction that cannot be swayed—this is the wisdom of contemplation. Third, through careful observation and discernment, one determines the object of focus, such as seeing all phenomena as intrinsically empty; with this determined wisdom, one focuses on the determined object, and the mind becomes stable in concentration—this is the wisdom of cultivation. Fourth, relying on these three wisdoms, one practices with proper attention and diligent effort; before fully realizing the wisdom of non-discrimination, one should accumulate all resources of merit and wisdom. In short, the supports are: "approaching virtuous teachers, listening to the true Dharma, reflecting in accordance with it, and practicing accordingly."
