Yao Qin refers to the Eastern Jin and Later Qin dynasties, specifically under the reign of Yao Xing. A "Three Collections Master" is a monk who has mastered the teachings of the sutras, vinaya, and commentaries—the three canonical divisions of Buddhism—and serves as an exemplar for all generations. Kumarajiva, which means "child of wisdom" in Chinese, was renowned for possessing profound wisdom even in his youth. As for the translation of his name, see above. The master was invited by the Qin ruler to China, where he translated scriptures and treatises, widely promoting the Buddha's teachings. His remarkable achievements and virtuous deeds are detailed in his biography.
