Invocation Practice Before Reciting the Great Peacock Wisdom King Sutra
Translated by the Tripitaka Master Amoghavajra of Daxingshan Temple, with the Titles of State Preceptor, Grand Master
Homage to the Buddha. Homage to the Dharma. Homage to the Sangha. Homage to the Seven Buddhas, the Perfectly Enlightened Ones.
I pay homage to all Bodhisattvas, beginning with the compassionate Bodhisattva Maitreya. I pay homage to all Solitary Realizers, Voice-Hearers, and the Four Pairs and Eight Fruits of the Path. I respectfully bow to all such noble beings.
I now recite the *Great Peacock King Sutra of the Buddha-Mother*. May all my prayers and requests be fulfilled according to my wishes.
All heavenly beings and spirits, whether dwelling on the earth, residing in the sky, or living in the waters—all spirits of various kinds, namely: the devas, nagas, asuras, maruts, garudas, gandharvas, kinnaras, mahoragas, yakshas, rakshasas, pretas, pishachas, kumbhandas, putanas, kataputanas, skandhas, unmadas, chayas, apasmaras, ushatarakas, and all other spirits and ghosts; all harmful influences, human and non-human beings; all malicious poisons and harms; all inauspicious things; all severe illnesses; all spirits and ghosts; all messengers; all enemies and adversaries; all fears and terrors; all poisons; all spells and incantations; all curses and malevolent prayers; those who seek to cut short others' lives, harbor harmful intentions, or act to bring harm—all of you, come and listen as I recite the *Great Peacock King Sutra of the Buddha-Mother*.
Abandon your violent and wicked ways, and instead give rise to compassionate hearts. Develop pure faith in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha.
I now offer incense, flowers, food, and drink. May you all be pleased and listen attentively to my words.

All such celestial beings and spirits gather here, accepting these incense, flowers, food, and drink. Filled with joy, they protect and support me, along with all my family members. May every misfortune, every worry, every illness, every famine, imprisonment, and any place of fear be completely lifted from us. May we live a full hundred years and witness a hundred autumns. May the power of wisdom be realized, and all our wishes be fulfilled.
