見跡序二
Preface to Seeing the Traces, Part Two
依經解義。閱教知蹤。明眾器為一金。體萬物為自己。
Understanding the meaning through the scriptures, And tracing the path through the teachings, One realizes that all vessels are made of one gold, And sees all things as one with oneself.
正邪不辯。真偽奚分。未入斯門。權為見跡。
Right and wrong are indistinguishable; truth and falsehood, how can they be told apart? Before entering this gate, it is merely seen as a trace of appearances.
頌曰。
The verse says:
水邊林下跡偏多 芳草離披見也麼
縱是深山更深處 遼天鼻孔怎藏他
By watersides and beneath the woods, traces can be found in plenty. Even in the scattered fragrant grass, can you still see them?
No matter how deep within the distant mountains you go, How could you hide the vast nostrils that span the heavens?
和。
枯木巖前差路多 草窠裏輥覺非麼
脚跟若也隨他去 未免當頭蹉過他
又。
見牛人少覔牛多 山北山南見也麼
明暗一條來去路 箇中認取別無他
