The Record of Efficacy from Upholding the Diamond Sutra was compiled by Zhou Kefu of the Qing Dynasty. It is a Buddhist text documenting miraculous accounts resulting from reciting the Diamond Sutra. This work gathers true cases from successive generations—eminent monks, great masters, literati, lay practitioners, and ordinary devotees—who obtained spiritual responses, eliminated disasters, and resolved difficulties through upholding the Diamond Sutra, demonstrating the sublime merits of the Diamond Sutra in Buddhist practice. Living in the early Qing period, Zhou Kefu upheld traditional Buddhist faith. By compiling these accounts of efficacy, he aimed to propagate the mighty power of the Diamond Sutra and encourage devotees to diligently cultivate. As a core scripture of Mahayana Buddhism, the Diamond Sutra is renowned for its Prajñā teaching of emptiness. The Record of Efficacy strengthens its foundation of faith from an empirical perspective, playing a significant role in the dissemination of Buddhism among the people. To this day, it continues to provide a basis of confidence for those studying the Buddha’s teachings.
