一切如來金剛最勝王義利堅固染愛王心品第二
Chapter 2: The Heart of the King of Steadfast Love, Sovereign of All Tathagatas' Diamond Supreme Victory
爾時世尊復入馬陰藏三摩地,一切如來幽隱玄深寂靜熾然,光明勇猛忿怒威峻,師子吼音振動電掣,天鼓鳴香象王聲、大金剛聲、大商佉聲,作如是等聲。時金剛手及金剛持等菩薩見如是相巳,齊聲讚曰:
At that time, the World-Honored One entered the Samadhi of the Hidden Horse-Crocodile. All Tathagatas remained in that profound, subtle, tranquil, and intensely radiant state, with blazing light, fierce and majestic power, roaring like lions, shaking like thunderbolts, sounding like celestial drums, like the bellow of a great elephant king, like the supreme vajra sound, and like the great conch call, producing such diverse sounds. Then, Vajrapani and Vajradhara, along with other bodhisattvas, upon witnessing these extraordinary signs, praised in unison, saying:
「諸佛甚奇特, 金剛振吼音,
欲說何法教, 願如來敷演。」
All Buddhas are wondrous and rare, With a voice that roars like a vajra. What teaching do they wish to proclaim? We pray the Thus-Come One will expound it.
Then the Vajradhatu Thus Come One addressed Vajrapani and the others, saying: "Vajrapani! There is a mantra called the Heart Mantra of the Highest King of Vajra Power, which embodies the supremely victorious meaning and steadfast loving bond of all Thus Come Ones. It is the most honored and supreme among all yogic practices, swiftly bringing attainment. It causes all who see it to regard one another with feelings of parents, spouses, and children. All deeds undertaken will be accomplished. As for all other mantras one may hold—whether from the Buddha-crown section, the Thus Come One section, the Lotus section, the Vajra section, or the Action section—this mantra can command and empower them all, bringing them to swift fulfillment. If a mantra practitioner recites this sutra three hundred thousand times, all mantra lords and the King of the Great Mandala of the Vajra Realm will gather together, granting accomplishment at once, and swiftly reaching the great vajra stage, even to the stage of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva." Then the World-Honored One proclaimed the mantra:
「唵摩訶引囉誐嚩日囉二合瑟抳二合沙嚩日囉二合薩怛嚩二合惹引吽引鑁斛引」
This appears to be a mantric text in Siddhaṃ script (a medieval Indian script used for Buddhist texts), transliterated into Chinese characters. The text seems to be a Buddhist mantra, possibly related to Vajrayana practices. Without additional context about which specific mantra this is meant to represent, I can note that it contains elements like "Vajra" (日囉/嚩日囉) and sounds reminiscent of mantras involving Vajrasattva or similar tantric deities.
However, as this is likely a transliteration of a Sanskrit mantra written in Chinese characters, a direct English "translation" of the sounds would be:
"Om Maha Vajra Shni Sha Vajra Sattva Ja Hum Vam Hoh"
This is not a translation with semantic meaning in the traditional sense — mantras are often considered to be "sound embodiments" of enlightened qualities, not meant to be literally translated word-for-word. The sounds themselves are the practice.
If you'd like me to provide a more detailed explanation of what this mantra might be, or if you have a specific version of this text in modern Chinese or Sanskrit that you'd like translated, please let me know. Otherwise, this represents the phonetic content of the mantra as best as can be rendered in English letters.
爾時世尊復說頌曰:
「二手金剛拳, 相叉內為縛,
直竪忍願針, 相交即成染,
是名根本印。 若持此真言,
及以密印力, 印心額喉頂,
如金剛頂身, 一切諸罪垢,
纔結即當滅。 若息災增益,
愛敬與降伏, 隨其所愛者,
纔誦此真言, 彼即當獲得。
若毒若相憎, 纔結誦當息,
加持食七遍, 我當降甘露。」
