The *Abhidharmakośa Commentary* is a commentary and annotation by the Tang Dynasty monk Puguang on the *Abhidharmakośa* composed by the Bodhisattva Vasubandhu, completed in the mid-seventh century. Following the thought of the Sarvāstivāda school, the work systematically explains core doctrines such as the nature of all phenomena, causality and dependent origination, as well as samsara and liberation. It is divided into eight chapters, including the Chapter on Elements, the Chapter on Faculties, and the Chapter on the World, employing rigorous logic to analyze terminology and concepts. It is revered as the authoritative commentary on Abhidharma studies. Its content inherits the essence of Xuanzang's translation tradition while integrating a Chinese Buddhist perspective, making it an important bridge for studying the teachings of the Sarvāstivāda school and the philosophy of Consciousness-Only. In the history of Chinese Buddhism, it is praised as the "Treatise of Wisdom" and remains a key text for deeply understanding Indian sectarian Buddhism and the transition to Mahayana thought.
