Mahāvaipulya Nirvikalpa Sutra (大方等無想經)

Chapter 6: The Door of Samadhi for Understanding the Transmigration of Birth and Death

The Buddha said, "Excellent, excellent! Good man, listen carefully, listen with an open heart, and reflect on what I am about to teach you. Within this sutra, there are teachings on attaining the fruits of the field of birth-and-death and afflictions; teachings on the joyful king of the field of birth-and-death; teachings on adorning and settling the mind in the field of birth-and-death; teachings on the ground of joy in birth-and-death; teachings on the ground of fulfillment in birth-and-death; teachings on right view in birth-and-death; teachings on the blink of an eye in birth-and-death; teachings on the garment of birth-and-death; teachings on abiding long in birth-and-death; and teachings on the radiance of birth-and-death. Good man, these are called the ten fields of afflictions and karma in birth-and-death, which are the methods for attaining a settled mind and a treasury of aspirations."

For the sake of all beings, He reveals the meaning of birth and death. Though the Buddha is free from defilements and karmic ties, He dwells among them for the good of all.
