## 文殊師利菩薩及諸仙所說吉凶時日善惡宿曜經卷下

> Chapter on Auspicious and Inauspicious Times, Good and Bad Stars, Spoken by Manjushri Bodhisattva and the Sages (Volume 2)

開府儀同三司特進試鴻臚卿肅國公食邑三千戶賜紫贈司空諡大鑑正號大廣智大興善寺三藏沙門不空奉　詔譯

> Translated by the Great Master Amoghavajra, Saint of the Great Prajna, Grand Minister of State, Grand Guardian and Chief Steward, with imperial decree.

西國每一月，分為白黑兩分。

> In the Western lands, each month is divided into two parts: the bright half and the dark half.

入月一日至十五日，為白月分以其光生漸明白之謂也。入月十六日至三十日，為黑月分以其光漸減黑之謂也。文殊師利菩薩說時日偈云：

> From the first to the fifteenth day of the month is the bright-half period, when the moonlight gradually grows clearer. From the sixteenth to the thirtieth day of the month is the dark-half period, when the moonlight gradually wanes and dims. Manjushri Bodhisattva spoke these verses about the days and times:

一三五七十， 十一與十三，於二黑白分， 所作皆成就。黑三夜七晝， 十夜十四晝，白四夜八晝， 一夜十五晝。

> First, fifth, seventh, and tenth days, Along with the eleventh and thirteenth, On these days, whether dark or bright, Whatever you do, will come to fruition. The third night of the dark half, and the seventh day, The tenth night, and the fourteenth day, The fourth night of the bright half, and the eighth day, The first night, and the fifteenth day.

所謂一夜者，十一夜也。勒頌者貴省文也

於此黑白月， 晝夜不成就，日中及中夜， 已後皆通吉。

> In the bright and dark fortnights, Day and night are not fixed; From midday onward, and from midnight onward, Both are considered auspicious times.

### 擇日

> Choosing an Auspicious Day

每入月，一日十六日、三日十八日、五日二十日、七日二十二日、十日二十五日、十一日二十六日、十三日二十八日。

> On the first and sixteenth days of each month, on the third and eighteenth days, on the fifth and twentieth days, on the seventh and twenty-second days, on the tenth and twenty-fifth days, on the eleventh and twenty-sixth days, and on the thirteenth and twenty-eighth days.

已上是吉日，所作吉祥事必成就。

> This is an auspicious day; all good deeds undertaken shall be fulfilled.
