除罪法第三
尼懺僧殘罪法(尼以女弱，事須相假以肅其懷。如若私己容惡，則自壞彼，犯在不輕。故尼覆僧殘，但增罪治，半月行摩那埵，無別覆藏調伏法故。尼懺僧殘，要在二部僧中作摩那埵羯磨，大僧與尼二部各滿四人。若作出罪羯磨，大僧與尼二部各滿二十人，不得減。)
Repentance for the Nuns’ Remaining Offenses\(^1\)
<note>Nuns, being physically weaker, require support from the community to maintain their discipline. If a nun conceals her own faults or tolerates wrongdoing in others, she harms both herself and others, committing a serious offense. Therefore, when a nun conceals a Remaining Offense, she amasses further guilt, and must undergo a fifteen-day penance called *manatva*. There is no separate method for hiding and then purifying such offenses. For a nun to repent a Remaining Offense, she must perform the *manatva* ceremony before both the community of monks and the community of nuns, with at least four members from each side present. When performing the ceremony for full absolution, the assembly requires at least twenty monks and twenty nuns, and this number cannot be reduced.
乞摩那埵羯磨文(比丘尼犯僧殘罪，應二部僧中半月行摩那埵。行摩那埵時，應至二部僧中，偏露右肩，脫革屣，禮僧足，右膝著地，合掌，作如是乞。)
PETITION FOR THE MANATVA PENANCE(A bhikshuni who has committed a sanghadisesa offense must undergo the Manatva penance for half a month in the presence of both assemblies of monks and nuns. When performing this penance, she should go to both assemblies, bare her right shoulder, remove her sandals, bow to the feet of the monastic community, kneel on her right knee, join her palms, and make the following request.)
大德僧聽！我比丘尼某甲，犯某甲若干僧殘罪，今從二部僧乞半月摩那埵。願僧與我半月摩那埵，慈愍故。(如是三說。)
Noble Sangha, listen! I, the bhikkhuni named [your name], have committed a saṅghādisesa offense the specified number of times. Now, from both orders of bhikkhus and bhikkhunis, I request half-month mānatta (penance). Please grant me the half-month mānatta, out of compassion.(This is to be repeated three times.)

**The Recitation for the Manatta (Probation) Observance**
大德僧聽！此比丘尼某甲，犯某甲若干僧殘罪，今從二部僧乞半月摩那埵。若僧時到僧忍聽，僧今與比丘尼某甲半月摩那埵。白如是。
大德僧聽！此比丘尼某甲，犯某甲若干僧殘罪，今從二部僧乞半月摩那埵；僧今與比丘尼某甲半月摩那埵。誰諸長老忍僧與比丘尼某甲半月摩那埵者默然，誰不忍者說。是初羯磨。(如是三說。)僧已忍與比丘尼某甲半月摩那埵竟。僧忍，默然故，是事如是持。(比丘尼行摩那埵法與上大僧同，唯應二部僧中日日白。應作如是白：)
大德僧聽！我比丘尼某甲，犯某甲若干僧殘罪，已從二部僧乞半月摩那埵；僧已與我半月摩那埵。我比丘尼某甲，已行若干日過，餘有若干日在，白大德僧令知，我行摩那埵。
乞出罪羯磨文(比丘尼半月行摩那埵竟，應至二部僧中，作如是乞。)
大德僧聽！我比丘尼某甲，犯某甲若干僧殘罪，已從二部僧乞半月摩那埵；僧已與我半月摩那埵。我已於二部僧中行半月摩那埵竟，今從僧乞出罪羯磨。願僧與我出罪羯磨，慈愍故。(如是三說。)
與出罪羯磨文
大德僧聽！此比丘尼某甲，犯某甲若干僧殘罪，已從二部僧乞半月摩那埵；僧已與比丘尼某甲半月摩那埵。此比丘尼某甲，已於二部僧中行半月摩那埵竟，今從僧乞出罪羯磨。若僧時到僧忍聽，僧今與比丘尼某甲出罪羯磨。白如是。
