Because it includes all meanings; Because it cannot be destroyed by external views; Because it is easy to enter; and after entering, One's practice does not degenerate.
The Buddhas teach the wonderful Dharma Based on the two truths: The first is called conventional truth, The second is called ultimate truth.
First, the self, phenomena, and their functions are explained For the sake of guiding others. Seven kinds and four kinds Of suchness are called ultimate truth.
One should understand the distinctions of: Nature, meaning, establishment, Number, and sequence—skillfully applied— Thus revealing the conventional meaning of the aggregates.
The five and three dharmas, the true reality, Then the four kinds to be known, And the four kinds of examination, And the four kinds of true understanding.
The establishment of the three natures, Their distinctions, functions, hidden aspects, Means, inclusion, and differences— Each of these has many varieties.
Hearing the twelve divisions of teachings, The three supreme objects of refuge, The three trainings, and the three enlightenments— Are taught purely for the sake of beings.
Hearing, refuge, training, and enlightenment— Six, three, twelve, and five— Following the names and numerical order, They should be explained in detail accordingly.
Noble conduct, the unsurpassed vehicle, Great enlightenment, and merits, Heterodox views, methods of debate, and explanations— Each should be known in their many varieties.
Special and non-special, Impartial mind and beneficial action, Repaying kindness and joyful praise, Effort that is not in vain.
Unmistaken methods, Decline and progress, Apparent and real virtues, Skillfully taming sentient beings.
Bodhisattvas receive prophecies, Fall into the sphere of certainty, What must be done and what should always be done— The supreme Dharma should be understood.
All conceptual frameworks and establishments, The examination of all phenomena, And complete true understanding, And also all the immeasurables,
The explanation of results and benefits, The nature and inclusion of the Great Vehicle, Ten things a Bodhisattva should know, And the establishment of various names.
Clinging to "effect exists in cause," "Manifestation," "coming and going," Self, permanence, karma from past lives, The divine creator, harming living beings,
Finite and infinite, confusion, Views of no cause, nihilism, emptiness, Believing in superiority, purity, and auspiciousness— These are called the sixteen heterodox views.
Function without substantiality, Inclusion and non-inclusion contradictions, Usefulness and uselessness, As causes lead to great faults.
The structure of debate, its setting, Its basis, its ornamentation, Defeat in debate, withdrawal from debate, And many methods of debate.
The body, explanation, wording, and meaning, Raising meaning, difficulties, and the teacher, Speaking to the assembly and praising the Buddha, Brief and extensive teachings, and the benefits of study.
The characteristics of the stages, mental application, Basis, virtues and non-virtues, What is to be overcome and what overcomes, Brief and extensive meanings should be known.
