1. What is Dependent Origination
Question: There are numbers like one, two, and many. Since numbers are reasonable, not all things are empty. If there are things, then these numbers exist, so how can all things be empty?
Without the one, there is no many; without the many, there is also no one. Thus, all phenomena, being dependently arisen, are without inherent nature.
Without the one, there is no many; without the many, the one cannot exist. Thus, all phenomena arise in dependence. Because they arise in dependence, they are without inherent form.
"First, the concept of arising through conditions is established through the interplay of one and many. This arising through conditions is itself the nature of the formless Dharma."
