憶予曩謁霞城大座師許於華亭。知有天主教來矣。時邑之縉紳士庶。口自操刃攻之若𭁵。日訟于郡公縣公者。人不啻萬億計。狀不只千萬張。緣以暴銀金多攀接貴介。不肖利其有者。亦稍稍作寬活套子聽其自去。此予目擊其事也。今夏月謁瑪石王父母師轉任閩之建安。并仝詹月如年兄任甌寧。復聞有天主教之寓于建寧也。有年矣。建邑之士其高期聳拔者。莫不以鄒魯之邦自任。豈小醜能亂哉。且屬名儒梓里儀型不遠然其中不無仁智百姓受其狂惑。毋怪乎小道可觀也。以况雲間之訟之者。則未之有矣。蓋其俗天情惇厚不欲以非理繩人。誠先賢過化之區。而詩書源長。即此輩亦不能生事耳。雖然學必以正為宗。一切吊詭皆可坐在左道之誅。况以夷人亂華春秋首嚴。而儒不儒。釋不釋。道不道。獨標名曰天主教。則更為左道之尤乎。此閑先之力。予所以與雲間許老師諸人有同心自不甘沒沒也。偶因訪盟社李猶龍兄暨楚桃源上官法護先生。得拜費隱禪師大和尚性命正解。并諸公闢邪說。因知三教聖人尚存人間。此正其轉身說法時耳。凡切吾徒衛之不可不力。聊以一言辨之于首。非好辨也。以待後之學者大肆斧鉞。吾道幸孔。旹崇禎九年夏月書于符山方丈臨川劉文龍雲子甫著
