無染著陀羅尼品第十三
Chapter 13: The Unstained Dhāraṇī
爾時，世尊告具壽舍利子：「今有法門，名無染著陀羅尼，是諸菩薩所修行法，過去菩薩之所受持，是菩薩母。」
At that time, the World-Honored One addressed the Venerable Shariputra: "There is a Dharma-gate called the Unstained Dhāraṇī. It is the practice of all Bodhisattvas, upheld by the Bodhisattvas of the past, and it is the mother of Bodhisattvas."
說是語已，具壽舍利子白佛言：「世尊！陀羅尼者，是何句義？世尊！陀羅尼者，非方處、非非方處。」
When he had spoken these words, the venerable Shariputra addressed the Buddha, saying: "World-Honored One, what is the meaning of the term 'Dhāraṇī'? World-Honored One, a dhāraṇī is not a place, nor is it a non-place."
作是語已，佛告舍利子：「善哉！善哉！舍利子！汝於大乘已能發起，信解大乘，尊重大乘。如汝所說，陀羅尼者，非方處、非非方處，非法、非非法，非過去、非未來、非現在，非事、非非事，非緣、非非緣，非行、非非行，無有法生，亦無法滅。然為利益諸菩薩故，作如是說。於此陀羅尼功用正道理趣勢力安立，即是諸佛功德，諸佛禁戒，諸佛所學，諸佛祕意，諸佛生處，故名無染著陀羅尼最妙法門。」
Having spoken thus, the Buddha said to Shariputra: "Excellent, excellent! Shariputra! You have already been able to arouse the aspiration for the Great Vehicle, to have faith in and understand the Great Vehicle, and to revere the Great Vehicle. As you have said, this dhāraṇī is not a location, nor is it a non-location; it is not a dharma, nor is it a non-dharma; it is not past, not future, not present; it is not an event, nor is it a non-event; it is not a condition, nor is it a non-condition; it is not an action, nor is it a non-action. No dharma arises, nor does any dharma cease. Yet, for the benefit of all bodhisattvas, it is spoken of in this way. In the function, correct principle, meaning, power, and establishment of this dhāraṇī lie the merits of all buddhas, the precepts of all buddhas, the learning of all buddhas, the secret intent of all buddhas, and the source from which all buddhas arise. Therefore, it is called the Unstained Dhāraṇī, the Most Sublime Dharma Gate."
作是語已，舍利子白佛言：「世尊！惟願善逝為我說此陀羅尼法。若諸菩薩能安住者，於無上菩提不復退轉，成就正願，得無所依，自性辯才，獲希有事，安住聖道，皆由得此陀羅尼故。」
Having spoken thus, Shariputra addressed the Buddha, saying: "World-Honored One, I beseech the Well-Gone One to expound for me this dhāraṇī method. If bodhisattvas are able to abide in it, they will never regress from unsurpassed enlightenment. They will accomplish true vows, attain non-reliance, manifest innate eloquence, achieve rare and wondrous qualities, and abide securely in the holy path—all by virtue of obtaining this dhāraṇī."
佛告舍利子：「善哉！善哉！如是！如是！如汝所說。若有菩薩得此陀羅尼者，應知是人與佛無異。若有供養尊重、承事供給此菩薩者，應知即是供養於佛。舍利子！若有餘人聞此陀羅尼，受持讀誦生信解者，亦應如是恭敬供養，與佛無異，以是因緣獲無上果。」
The Buddha said to Shariputra, "Excellent, excellent! So it is, so it is! Just as you have said. If there is a bodhisattva who attains this dhāraṇī, you should know that such a person is no different from a buddha. If there are those who make offerings, show respect, serve, and provide for this bodhisattva, you should know that this is the same as making offerings to a buddha. Shariputra! If there are others who hear this dhāraṇī, receive and uphold it, recite it, and give rise to faith and understanding, they too should be honored and served in the same way, no different from a buddha. Through this cause and condition, they will attain the supreme fruit."
爾時世尊即為演說陀羅尼曰：
At that moment, the World-Honored One then proclaimed the dhāraṇī, saying:
「怛姪他刪陀喇儞 嗢多喇儞 蘇三鉢囉底瑟恥哆 蘇那麼 蘇鉢喇底瑟恥哆鼻逝也 跋羅 薩底也 鉢喇底慎若 蘇阿 嚧訶 慎若那末底 嗢波彈儞 阿伐那末底阿毘師彈儞 阿鞞毘耶訶囉輸婆 伐底 蘇尼室唎多(引)薄虎郡社(引)阿毘婆䭾(引)莎訶」
Tadyatha, Santarani, Uttarani, Susampratishthita, Sunama, Supratishthita, Pishaya, Bhara, Satiya, Pratishena, Su Aruha, Shena Namati, Upadani, Avana Mati, Abhishadani, Abhiviya Hara Suvarna, Vati, Sunishrita, Bahu Kunda, Abhivada Svaha.
佛告舍利子：「此無染著陀羅尼句，若有菩薩能善安住、能正受持者，當知是人若於一劫、若百劫、若千劫、若百千劫，所發正願無有窮盡，身亦不被刀杖、毒藥、水火、猛獸之所損害。何以故？舍利子！此無染著陀羅尼，是過去諸佛母，未來諸佛母，現在諸佛母。舍利子！若復有人以十阿僧企耶三千大千世界滿中七寶，奉施諸佛，及以上妙衣服、飲食種種供養，經無數劫；若復有人於此陀羅尼，乃至一句能受持者，所生之福，倍多於彼。何以故？舍利子！此無染著陀羅尼甚深法門，是諸佛母故。」
The Buddha said to Shariputra, "This Stainless Dhāraṇī, if there is a bodhisattva who can dwell well in it and correctly receive and uphold it, you should know that person, whether for one kalpa, a hundred kalpas, a thousand kalpas, or a hundred thousand kalpas, the pure vows they make will be inexhaustible, and their body will not be harmed by swords, clubs, poison, fire, water, or fierce beasts. Why is this? Shariputra! This Stainless Dhāraṇī is the mother of all past Buddhas, the mother of all future Buddhas, and the mother of all present Buddhas. Shariputra! If there were a person who, for countless kalpas, offered to all the Buddhas the seven treasures filling ten asaṃkhyeya three-thousand great-thousand worlds, along with the finest clothing, food, drink, and all kinds of offerings; and if another person were to receive and uphold even a single phrase of this Dhāraṇī, the merit born from that would be many times greater than the former. Why is this? Shariputra! Because this Stainless Dhāraṇī profound Dharma-gate is the mother of all Buddhas."
時具壽舍利子及諸大眾聞是法已，皆大歡喜，咸願受持。
Then, the Venerable Shariputra and the entire assembly, having heard this teaching, were filled with great joy and resolved to accept and uphold it.
