The Collected Sayings of Master Gao Feng from Longquan Monastery, compiled by the monk Ru Ying during the Yuan Dynasty, records the teachings, discourses, and dialogues of Chan Master Gao Feng Yuan Miao and his disciples at Longquan Monastery. Compiled during the flourishing period of the Linji school in the Yuan Dynasty, this work reflects the intellectual development and practical characteristics of Chan Buddhism during the Song-Yuan transition. Its contents encompass methods of meditation, discourses on mind-nature, and essential principles of practice. As an important text for the study of the Gao Feng lineage and the Yuan Dynasty Linji school, it has exerted a profound influence on the genre of Chan sayings and the dissemination of Chan teachings in later generations.

On the third day before the Double Third Festival in the Dinghai year of the Zhiyuan era, Shen Shichang, a Lingbao Dharma Master who also performs the Six Spiritual Powers and the teachings of the Final Dharma, respectfully writes this preface.
