> Buddha Land Praise

> I have seen students take a single scroll of the Amitabha Sutra and say it is all about their own mind and true nature, that there is no Buddha and no Buddha-land apart from this. Is this not rejecting the object to seek the mind, cutting off your own head to look for life? Kun could not bear to hear this, so I have composed a verse on the existence of Buddha-lands to warn beginners.

> How great is this one scroll, the Small Amitabha Sutra— the word "Buddha" appears in it eighty-five times. Seeing the Three Minds contained within it, how could one claim there is no Buddha and not be at fault?

> Seeking the character "earth," twenty-one came to be; searching everywhere for "nature," no trace could be found. Clearly there is earth—this is the perfect teaching; unlike the lesser vehicle, which speaks much of stillness.
