Mount Potalaka Chronicle (補陀洛迦山傳)

Golden and jade-like, the pagoda’s twin shadows shine; Gorgeous clouds and fragrant mist dampen the latticed shrine. Mermaids weave shells into a splendid canopy above; Dragon girls bear precious pearls and a jeweled banner with love. Rolling thunder-clouds and waves resound across the sea; Tidal roars around Mount Sumeru crash mightily. I pray you show your general’s form, majestic and bright; One drumbeat quells all demons, subdues their dark might.

A full moon, like a precious jewel, reflects clearly across the ocean waves. Upon the sea, Guanyin manifests the Great Vehicle. Sword-bearing ghosts and spirits arrive, swift and shining, While misty towers and pavilions rise, layer upon layer.

An incense-burning emissary, a guest from Tiantai, A Dharma-teaching master, a monk from Japan. If only I could grow wings on this body, To cross quickly to the other shore and ascend there first.
