The *Lankavatara Sutra Reference and Commentary* compiled by the lay Buddhist Guang Mo in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties is a significant commentary on the *Lankavatara Sutra*. The *Lankavatara Sutra* is an important Mahayana Buddhist scripture from India, expounding on the Tathagatagarbha doctrine, the Yogacara philosophy, and meditation practices. Against the backdrop of the Buddhist revival in the Ming dynasty, Guang Mo integrated various scholarly perspectives, systematically collating and interpreting the sutra. His commentary covers terminological analysis, doctrinal exposition, and practical guidance for cultivation. This work aids in a deeper understanding of Yogacara and the Tathagatagarbha system, holds considerable reference value in Buddhist doctrinal studies, and serves as an important text for researching the *Lankavatara Sutra* and late Ming Buddhist thought.
