此本係性旦癸巳歲在歙浦栖雲院所聽錄者。於時隨允．持循．蒼暉．晟堅．密時諸公之後獲聞法要。覺老人此翻心膽盡吐。蓋祕密之藏會當大啟於今時。非偶然也。因退而紀之。甲午冬老人病中口授數處令改正。此本遂稱允當。及老人西逝。性旦以病拙藪逋。薄福多障。無緣流通闡播。聊識其後。以誌不忘云。庚子夏華陽學人性旦拭涕跋。

> This text was transcribed from a lecture I attended at the Qiyun Monastery in Shepu in the year Guisi. At that time, I had the opportunity to listen to the essential teachings of the Dharma in the company of venerable masters such as Suiyun, Chixun, Canghui, Shengjian, and Mishi. The Elder’s exposition on this occasion poured forth from the depths of his heart and mind—truly, the treasury of esoteric teachings was destined to be widely revealed in our time, and this was no mere coincidence. I therefore withdrew and recorded it. In the winter of the year Jiawu, while the Elder was ill, he orally instructed several corrections to be made. This version thus came to be regarded as accurate and appropriate. After the Elder passed into the West, I, Xingdan, hindered by illness and dullness, burdened by meager merit and many obstacles, lacked the conditions to circulate and propagate it widely. I simply append this note to the end, to mark that I have not forgotten. In the summer of the year Gengzi, Xingdan, a student from Huayang, wiped away his tears and wrote this postscript.
