### 勝慧品第二十七

> Chapter 27: Superior Wisdom

由慧力為先， 樂勤求正法，與定常相應， 如母愛於子；又世間父母， 不能偏隨逐，彼於五趣中， 一切皆捄護。慧山極高峻， 戒水常清淨，於三有過患， 一切皆明見。若真實了知， 眼根所緣境，以智為所依， 能渡三有海。善修施戒定， 說彼智為先，由智樂持戒， 則能免惡趣。若眼所觀境， 由慧而離染，故如來所說， 善住八聖道；於苦等四諦， 最初而開示，由增上慧力， 破愚夫常見。智如彼利劍， 斷貪愛藤蔓，離生等纏縛， 及彼過失聚。智為勝甘露， 是出世法財，最上善知識， 為第一寶藏。修智戒耆舊， 離貪愛疑惑，常依止寂靜， 開示真實道。慧如彼金剛， 力能極堅利，摧壞諸煩惱， 令乘大智車。

> Wisdom leads the way— Joyfully, one seeks the true Dharma, Always united with meditative concentration, As a mother loves her child. Even worldly parents Cannot always follow and guide one, But wisdom protects and saves In all the five realms of existence. The mountain of wisdom is extremely steep, The water of ethical discipline is always clear; It sees clearly all the flaws Of the three realms of existence. If one truly understands The objects perceived by the eye, Relying on wisdom, One can cross the ocean of cyclic existence. Skilled in generosity, discipline, and meditation, Wisdom is said to be foremost. Through wisdom, one delights in keeping precepts, Thus escaping unfortunate destinies. Whatever is seen by the eye, Wisdom purifies it from attachment. Therefore, the Tathagata taught To dwell well in the Eightfold Noble Path. The Four Noble Truths—suffering and so on— Were first revealed; Through the power of superior wisdom, One breaks the common view of permanence. Wisdom is like a sharp sword, Cutting the creepers of craving and attachment, Freeing one from the bonds of birth and so forth, And from the accumulation of faults. Wisdom is the supreme nectar, The wealth of the transcendental Dharma, The highest spiritual friend, The foremost treasure. Cultivating wisdom and discipline since youth, Free from craving, attachment, and doubt, Always abiding in stillness, One reveals the path of truth. Wisdom is like a diamond, Extremely hard and sharp, Its power destroys all afflictions, Causing one to ride the great chariot of wisdom.
