Ancient Qingliang Chronicle (古清涼傳)

Mount Wutai. Located over 1,600 li northeast of Chang'an, it falls under the jurisdiction of Daizhou. From the mountain peak to the prefectural city, it is over 100 li to the southeast. This mountain range borders Hengshan to the left and Tianchi to the right. To the south, it belongs to Wutai County, and to the north, it reaches Fanshi County. The circumference of its base spans over 500 li.

Here, towering cliffs and overlapping ridges, deep valleys and cascading waterfalls, rocks shrouded in mist, and pines spreading like canopies—all number in the thousands. In summer, frost and snow linger; clouds and mist often gather. Places where neither humans nor beasts can tread are also frequently found here.

Standing atop the Central Terrace and gazing into the distance in all directions, only Hengshan lies in the background. All other mountains and valleys stretch out gracefully, like a clear and sublime painting.
