Nie Danian wrote a poem for the monk Rifu, who, after listening to sermons, was returning to the mountains:

Returning to live deep in the hills, far from the noise of the world, Do not let the nesting swallows soil your monk's robe. From now on you have awakened to the words of the three lives; Lean high on the jade terrace and watch the rain of flowers.

Inside the temple grounds stands the Longhua Treasure Pavilion, built by Xu Zhen, a palace curtain official during the reign of Emperor Lizong of Song. After the Song dynasty fell, Xu Zhen brought his three sons to live here, studying Buddhism to conceal his identity, and named it the Chuchen Hermitage. In the first year of Yanyou during the Yuan dynasty, a monk was expounding the Lotus Sutra when heavenly flowers rained down in profusion, and so it was renamed Longhua. At that time, the Treasure Pavilion was so vast and magnificent that it was unrivaled throughout the entire prefecture. The temples that were merged into it included the Qingxiu Monastery, the Right Concentration Hermitage, the Baofu Monastery, and the Jiuqu Faji Monastery.
