Tax Relief for the Poor and Orphans

Master Caoshan was once asked by a monk, "Qingshui is poor and alone—please, Master, grant me relief." Caoshan called out, "Shui, Osho!" Shui responded, "Yes?" Caoshan said, "The fine wine of Qingyuan's house— you've already drunk three cups, and still you say your lips haven't touched it."

Wumen said: Qingshui's transmission of the opportunity—what kind of mind is this? Caoshan had the eye and deeply discerned the coming mechanism. Yet even so, tell me: where is the place where Shui, the teacher, drank the wine?

The verse says:

Poor as Fan Dan, Yet fierce as Xiang Yu. With no means to live, Still I dare to rival the rich.
