Chapter 5: Wrathful Wisdom King Bilitonangpi's Jeweled Staff Mudra Mandala - Secret Offering and Ritual Procedures
Further, O holder of mantras, go to a charnel ground at night. Use ashes from a corpse to draw a square mandala with four gates. Drape colored silk overhead as a canopy, and hang yak-tail whisks, mirrors, and flower garlands.
Place eight skulls at the eight directions. Light eight oil lamps. In the center, draw a half-corpse. Above the corpse, draw a vajra-banner seal. Separately, draw a *preta* (hungry ghost). This is called the "Great Preta Night Mandala that grants all accomplishments."
At that time, the mantra-holder makes an offering according to the ritual. Recite the great mantra one hundred thousand times to perfect the practice. Fill a skull with *shuniti* (semen or essential fluid) and offer it to the vajra-banner seal.
The mantra-holder anoints his body with red sandalwood. After cleansing, wear a red robe. Use the mantra's armor of great illumination as your own protection. Also, take three companions who are eloquent, brave, and energetic. On the eighth day of the dark moon, the mantra-holder stops all sensory activity and calms the mind. Enter the Great Preta Night Mandala together with these three companions.
Sit down and remain steady. Form the ritual hand seal and recite this great mantra. You may see all kinds of demonic visions—do not be afraid. Recite through the entire night. You will surely attain success: This is the foremost practice for vanquishing demons and subduing enemies, and even difficult achievements will be quickly realized.
