Then the World-Honored One said to Ananda: "There is a great Dharani of immense power and boundless merit, capable of erasing the heavy sins of beings, including the five cardinal offenses. If someone hears this Dharani, develops a sincere heart, and throughout their life constantly upholds, recites, and honors it, the merit they attain will be no different from that of holding the scriptures of a thousand Buddhas." Then He recited the Dharani:
