一、不得直前立。二、不得直後立。三、不得太近。四、不得太遠。五、不得在高處立。六、不得上風立，當須對師額角七尺許立。

One, do not stand directly in front of the teacher. Two, do not stand directly behind the teacher. Three, do not stand too close. Four, do not stand too far away. Five, do not stand on higher ground. Six, do not stand upwind. You should stand about seven feet from the teacher, facing the corner of their forehead.
