The Revised Edition of the *Cheng Weishi Lun* was authored by the Ming dynasty monk Shi Guangshen. Based on the Yogācāra teachings transmitted by Xuanzang, this work collates and revises previous commentaries and annotations. It provides an in-depth exposition of the core doctrines of the Yogācāra school, including the theory of the eight consciousnesses, the three natures, and the transformation of consciousness into wisdom, offering a systematic organization of Yogācāra texts. As a significant revised edition in the development of Yogācāra studies, this work not only reflects the rigor of Buddhist scholarship in the Ming dynasty but also provides an essential model for later generations studying Yogācāra thought. It holds an academically pivotal role in the history of the development of doctrinal studies in Chinese Buddhism, bridging earlier and later traditions.
