The Gazetteer of Lingyin Temple in Wulin was compiled by the Qing dynasty scholar Sun Zhi and later revised by Xu Zeng. It is a Buddhist temple gazetteer documenting the history and culture of Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou. Compiled in the early Qing dynasty, the work meticulously records the temple's establishment and historical evolution, the deeds of eminent monks, inscribed poetry and steles, as well as the landscape and scenery, reflecting the flourishing of Jiangnan Buddhism and monastic administration during the Ming and Qing periods. As an important piece of local Buddhist literature, it not only provides valuable historical materials for the study of Lingyin Temple's history but also exemplifies the tradition of Chinese Buddhist temple gazetteer compilation. It holds authoritative reference value for understanding this Chan sacred site and the transmission of Buddhist culture.
