### 示歐嘉可

> To Oujia Ke

語曰：「人莫不飲食也，鮮能知味也。」此言其道在日用至近而知之者希。故古人謂：「除卻著衣喫飯更無別事。」是則古今兩間之內而被穿衣喫飯瞞昧者多矣！倘不為其所瞞者則稱豪傑之士矣！故學道之士不必向外別求玄玅，苟於日用一切境界不被所瞞，從著衣喫飯處一眼看破，便是真實向上工夫。有志於道者當從日用中做。

> The saying goes: "Everyone eats and drinks, but few truly appreciate the flavor." This illustrates that the Way lies in our daily lives, yet few are aware of it. Hence, the ancients said: "Apart from dressing and eating, there is nothing else." Throughout history, countless people have been misled by these daily activities. Those who are not fooled by them can be called heroes. Therefore, those who study the Way need not seek anything profound outside themselves. If, in all their daily encounters, they are not deceived, and see through the very acts of dressing and eating, this is the true practice of progress. Those who aspire to the Way should cultivate it within their everyday lives.
