The Recorded Sayings of Chan Master Linwo was compiled by the Qing dynasty monks Haizhen, Haizi, and others. It is a collection of the Dharma teachings and discourses of the eminent Linji school master, Chan Master Linwo. Completed during the Qing dynasty, the work contains the master's Dharma words, dialogues, gathas, and other materials, collectively embodying his Chan thought and guidance for practice. Its core lies in the Chan principle of directly pointing to the human mind, seeing one's nature, and attaining Buddhahood. As an important Chan text of the Qing dynasty, this recorded sayings not only provides valuable historical material for studying the Chan style of that period, but also holds profound guiding significance for later students in their meditation practice and realization of the Way. It occupies a distinct place within the corpus of Buddhist Chan literature.
