五 愚品
Chapter 5: The Fool
六〇
不眠者夜長，疲者由旬長，不知達正法，愚者流轉長。
The sleepless find the night long; the weary find the journey long; those who do not know the true Dharma wander long in ignorance.
六一
若得不勝己為友，與己相等者亦然，寧可堅決之獨行，不與愚者為伴侶。
If you cannot find a friend who is better than yourself, or at least your equal, then it is better to walk alone with firm resolve than to keep company with the foolish.
六二
The second line, second place.
「此我子我財」，愚者常煩惱。我且非有我，何況子與財？
"This is my child, this is my wealth," — the fool constantly worries. But I am not even my own, so how could children and wealth be mine?
六三
Sixty-three.
愚者自知愚，彼已是智人，愚者自為智，實稱真愚者。
六四
愚者雖終生，親近於賢人，不了達正法，如匙嚐羹味。
六五
縱然須臾間，親近於智者，能達於正法，如舌嚐羹味。
六六
愚者之無知，與自仇敵行，造作諸惡業，齎得眾苦果。
六七
自作不善業，作已生後悔，哭泣淚滿面，當得受業果。
六八
若自作善業，作已不後悔，歡喜而愉悅，應得受善果。
六九
惡業未熟間，愚者思如蜜，惡業成熟時，愚者彼受苦。
七〇
愚者月復月，雖唯取少食，似草之尖端，〔功德〕不值思法者，十六分之一。
七一
猶如拘牛乳，不立即凝固，愚者造惡業，不即感惡果，業力隨其後，如火灰復燃。
七二
愚者求知識，反而成災厄，破碎彼頭首，毀滅其幸福。
七三
愚者欲虛名，僧中作上座，僧院居上位，他人求供養。
七四
「僧俗皆共知，此事由我作，無論大小事，應從於我意」，此為愚者想，貪慢心增長。
七五
一則導世利，一則導涅槃，佛弟子比丘，如是應了知，莫貪世尊敬，專注於遠離。
