The heavens were black and the earth yellow; the universe was vast and empty. The sun and moon waxed and waned, and the stars and constellations spread across the sky. Cold came and heat went; autumn's harvest followed by winter's storage. Leap months completed the year, while pitch pipes harmonized the yin and yang. Clouds rose and brought rain; dew condensed into frost. Gold emerged from the Lishui River, and jade came from the Kunlun Mountains. The above text contains forty-eight volumes in total.
The Great Perfection of Wisdom Sutra (This scripture was taught in four locations over sixteen assemblies. The version that entered the canon here consists of 710 fascicles. The first 600 fascicles were retranslated by the Tang Dynasty Tripitaka Master Xuanzang at the Jade Flower Palace. The monk Xuanze of Western Light Temple composed sixteen prefaces to introduce each of the sixteen assemblies, clarifying their core meanings. Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty personally wrote the "Preface to the Holy Teachings," and Emperor Gaozong wrote the "Sacred Record." This sutra is the wisdom mother of all Buddhas, the compassionate father of all Bodhisattvas, a precious sword for cutting through afflictions, and a boat for crossing the river of craving. It represents the utmost benefit for living beings and the direct cause of attaining enlightenment. To honor its supremacy, it is placed at the forefront of all sutras.)
