### 安居論律告文

> Announcement on the Rules for the Rain Retreat

稽首真如清淨性，具足圓滿無減修。學無學地諸功德，及我同欣梵行人。願興同體大悲心，愍此沈淪迷倒世。直昭正法善毗尼，遍破眾生惑業苦。

> I bow to the true, pure nature of reality, Perfect, complete, lacking nothing in its practice. To the virtues of those in training and those beyond training, And to all fellow practitioners who share in this joy. May we awaken a heart of shared great compassion, Grieving for this sinking, deluded, upside-down world. Directly illuminate the true Dharma and good discipline, Piercing through the confusion, karma, and suffering of all beings.

弟子智旭，普為法界眾生，求於諸佛無上菩提正法輪故，專心披閱毗尼藏，彙輯要詮，便諸學習。又以業重福輕，障深慧淺，染心易熾，淨德難成，性罪僅持，遮罪多犯，言之似易，行之實難，自淑未遑，利人奚望。是以專自慚愧，徹底策新，然香四炷，供三寶善友，發十種增上誓願。盡法界眾生，有一未捨婬業，未忘婬法、未絕婬緣、未斷婬因，我終不取正覺。有一未捨殺盜業，未忘法、未絕緣、未斷因，我終不取正覺。有一未捨妄言、兩舌、惡口、綺語業，未忘法、未絕緣、未斷因，我終不取正覺。有一未捨貪瞋邪見業，未忘法、未絕緣、未斷因，我終不取正覺。唯願法界三寶，以本誓願力，證知哀憫，令我黑業永除，善法增長，克偕善友，淨滿圓成。

> Disciple Zhi Xu, on behalf of all beings throughout the Dharma Realm, and in order to seek the supreme wheel of正道 (the truth of enlightenment) from all Buddhas, has devotedly studied the Vinaya Pitaka (the collection of monastic rules), compiled essential teachings, and made them accessible for all learners. Yet, burdened by heavy karma and lacking merit, hindered by deep obscurations and possessing limited wisdom, my defiled mind easily blazes, while pure virtue is difficult to achieve. I merely uphold the inherent prohibitions but frequently violate the additional precepts. Speaking of it seems easy, but practicing it is truly difficult. I have not yet fully cultivated myself; how can I hope to benefit others? Therefore, I have sincerely repented, resolutely reinventing myself. I burn four sticks of incense as offerings to the Three Jewels and virtuous spiritual friends, and make ten supreme vows: For every being in the Dharma Realm: If there is even one who has not yet abandoned the deed of sexual misconduct, not forgotten the nature of sexual misconduct, not severed its conditions, and not eradicated its root cause, I will not attain enlightenment. If there is even one who has not yet abandoned the deeds of killing, stealing, the nature of these acts, their conditions, and their root causes, I will not attain enlightenment. If there is even one who has not yet abandoned the deeds of false speech, divisive speech, harsh speech, and idle chatter; and has not yet forgotten their nature, severed their conditions, and eradicated their root causes, I will not attain enlightenment. If there is even one who has not yet abandoned the deeds of greed, aversion, and wrong views; and has not yet forgotten their nature, severed their conditions, and eradicated their root causes, I will not attain enlightenment. I only pray that the Three Jewels throughout the Dharma Realm, by the power of their original vows, will witness and have compassion for me, so that my dark karma may be forever removed, virtuous qualities may increase, and together with virtuous spiritual friends, I may achieve purity, completion, and ultimate fulfillment.
