### 甲申七月三十日願文

> Vow Written on the 30th Day of the 7th Month, Year of Jia Shen

歸命能仁無上尊，大孝大慈真法性。三乘權實眾威神，願賜哀憐垂攝受。

> I bow to the Supreme One, the Able Sage, Perfect in great filial piety and great compassion, the true nature of reality. To the Three Vehicles—expedient and ultimate—with all their majestic powers, I pray you grant your compassion and receive me.

弟子智旭，自惟夙障，纏此幻形，復以深愆，丁茲劫濁，三寫烏焉，悲佛法之衰亂；五逆橫作，痛國步之艱難。朝野無改過之心，緇素爭覆轍之踐，良由共識相種，惡業同牽，同分妄見，眚緣共起。徹底思惟，決無心外實境；由衷悔憾，須勤體內漚和。爰與同行，并集檀那，普為國王帝主，父母親緣，土境萬民，法界含識，頂禮慈悲道場懺法，供養歷代知識道容，然香三炷，供常住三寶。又三炷，奉供幽冥教主，地藏慈尊。伏願大行皇帝，滅燬像之重尤，解殺戮之積怨，頓蒙解脫，速悟無生。今日主臣，進賢遠佞，發真實悲救兆民之心；捐利去名，竭真實不顧身家之悃。次願我等，各各生身父母，歷劫親緣，師友知識，眷屬檀護等，已命過者，長辭八難，托質九蓮；今現在者，不受兵祲，永離驚慴。又願執勞運力，助營福業者，一念無私，共轉國家之禍亂；三輪不昧，等消君父之愆亡。又願見聞隨喜，廣及法界眾生，普植良因，等成妙種。空五濁之幻染，證三德之性真。盡虛空界，悉悟圓常。智旭乃當，成等正覺。

> Disciple Zhi Xu reflects: Harassed by past obstacles, I remain trapped in this illusory form. Burdening myself with heavy transgressions, I face this impure age of chaos. Misinterpretations spread like errors in a thrice-copied text—I grieve over the decline and confusion of the Dharma. Heinous deeds run rampant—I ache at the nation’s stumbling path. Neither officials nor commoners show a heart for reform; clergy and laity alike tread the same disastrous course. This stems from shared karmic seeds, evil deeds pulling together, and collective delusive visions arising from shared afflictions. Upon thorough reflection, there are no true realities outside the mind. With heartfelt repentance, I must diligently cultivate inner harmony. Thus, together with fellow practitioners and assembled benefactors, I—on behalf of emperors and kings, parents and kin, the people of our land, and all sentient beings throughout the realm—bow in reverence before the Compassionate Repentance Ritual, make offerings to the enlightened masters of past generations, light three incense sticks as offerings to the Eternal Three Jewels, and light three more as offerings to Lord Kshitigarbha, the Compassionate Sovereign of the Dark Realm. I vow that the former emperor, having committed grave sins by destroying sacred images and accumulated enmity through slaughter, may swiftly attain liberation and awaken to the unborn truth. May current rulers and ministers promote virtue and distance themselves from corruption, awakening genuine compassion to save the multitudes. May they abandon profit and fame, offering sincere dedication devoid of self-interest and attachment. Next, I pray for all of us: For our parents in this life, our relatives through countless lifetimes, our teachers, friends, benefactors, and supporters—may those who have departed forever leave behind the eight difficult states and be reborn upon the lotus seat; may those now living be spared from warfare and terror, dwelling in eternal peace. Further, I wish that all who labor and contribute to this meritorious work may, with selfless intent, help transform national calamities. May they act with a pure mind, untouched by clinging, and thus dissolve the collective karmic debts of rulers and fathers. Finally, I pray that all who see, hear, or rejoice in these efforts—extending to all beings throughout the Dharma Realm—may widely plant wholesome roots and equally perfect wondrous seeds. May they empty the defiled illusions of the five turbidities and realize the true nature of the three virtues. May all beings throughout boundless space awaken to perfect and eternal reality. And may I, Zhi Xu, attain supreme enlightenment.
