### 藏野說

> Tibetan Wild Yak

《易》曰「聖人以此洗心，退藏於密，吉凶與民同患。」又曰「同人於野，亨。」蓋不藏不足以致用，而不於野，不能為大同。乾之初九曰「潛龍勿用」，潛即藏也。藏者，道之體也。歷見惕躍飛而不改其本體，故曰不變塞焉。知進退存亡而不失其正也。世但謂乾為陽物，坤為陰物而已。孰知一陰一陽之謂道，即形而下是形而上，其君之也，即所以藏之。其藏之也，即所以君之，元非偏屬者乎；故又曰「乾坤，其易之蘊邪。」蘊即藏也。藏乾坤於易，易外無乾坤；藏易於乾坤，乾坤外亦無易。又以易與坤而藏於乾，乾外無坤與易也；以乾與易而藏於坤，坤外無易與乾也。斯之謂物物一太極，太極本無極也。

> The \*Book of Changes\* says, "The sage uses this to cleanse the mind, withdrawing and storing it in secrecy, sharing fortune and misfortune with the people." It also says, "Gathering with others in the open wilderness brings success." For without storing, there is nothing to bring into use; and without gathering in the wilderness, there can be no great unity. The first line of the Qian hexagram states, "Hidden dragon, do not act." To be hidden is to store. Storing is the essence of the Way. Through all stages—emergence, vigilance, leaping, and soaring—its fundamental nature remains unchanged, thus it is said to be unwavering in adversity. It knows when to advance and retreat, survive or perish, yet never loses its proper course. The world often regards Qian as the symbol of yang and Kun as the symbol of yin, but who realizes that the alternation of yin and yang is the Way? What is below form is also above form. To govern it is to store it; to store it is to govern it—never one-sided or partial. Thus it is also said, "Qian and Kun—are they not the storehouse of the Changes?" Storehouse here means to store. Store Qian and Kun within the Changes, and outside the Changes there is no Qian or Kun. Store the Changes within Qian and Kun, and outside Qian and Kun there is no Changes. Moreover, store the Changes and Kun within Qian, and outside Qian there is no Kun or Changes. Store Qian and the Changes within Kun, and outside Kun there is no Changes or Qian. This is what is meant by "everything contains the Supreme Ultimate, and the Supreme Ultimate is fundamentally limitless."
