The Recorded Sayings of Chan Master Meixidu of Dongshan is a collection of teachings and discourses by the eminent Chan Master Fudu from the Qing dynasty, compiled by his disciples such as Qingxu. Completed in the early Qing period, this work reflects the transmission and practice of Chan Buddhism at that time. It includes Master Fudu’s sharp dialogues, formal hall discourses, admonitions to the assembly, and verses, vividly embodying the style and essence of the Linji school. As an important Chan text of the Qing dynasty, this recorded sayings provides valuable historical material for the study of Ming-Qing Buddhist thought and the development of Chan, offering significant guidance for later practitioners in their study and cultivation.
