### ○福州天王志清禪師

> Zen Master Zhiqing of Tianwang Temple, Fuzhou

上堂。竪起拂子云。只這箇天不能盖地不能載。徧界徧空成圓成塊。到這裏三世諸佛向甚麼處摸索。六代祖師向甚麼處提持。天下衲僧向甚麼處名邈。除非自得自證。便乃敲唱雙行。雖然如是。未是衲僧行履處。作麼生是衲僧行履處。是非海裏橫身入。豺虎叢中縱步行。

> The master ascended the hall, raised his whisk, and said, "This very thing cannot be covered by heaven, nor can it be borne by earth. It pervades all realms and space, complete in itself, solid as a whole. Here, where do the Buddhas of the three times search for it? Where do the six patriarchs uphold it? Where do the monks under heaven name it? Unless one attains it personally and realizes it oneself, then one can strike and sing simultaneously. Even so, this is not yet the monk's way of conduct. What is the monk's way of conduct? Plunging into the sea of right and wrong, walking freely among wolves and tigers."
