### 與黃子光

時來安坐海印光中。與諸幻眾。揮麈默談。頃閒賢伯仲氏。炳然現我三昧也。惟幽居遠市。閉戶究心。山色在目。溪聲滿耳。未必不對法身而聆長舌耳。春來動定勝常。知坐進此道。歡喜無量。且云爝然於中。有難對俗人言者。誠哉此事。惟在自知自信。正如啞人食甘飲苦耳。其實何可吐露耶。寄去大慧語錄。幸時披剝。冀足下時與此老把臂共行。直使佛祖避舍三十。日來所作水月道場。空華佛事。隨見影響。候莊嚴有緒。當迎杖舄。共升法殿也。右臂不仁久矣。不能公布作書。一語普告。

> When the time comes, sit peacefully within the sea of light, and with all illusory beings, wave the whisk and converse in silence. In a moment, the noble brothers appear clearly before me in samadhi. Living secluded far from the city, closing the door to delve into the mind— mountain hues before your eyes, the sound of streams filling your ears— surely you are facing the Dharma body and listening to its long tongue. This spring, your practice has been especially vibrant, and I know you are progressing steadily on this path, bringing immeasurable joy. You mention that within, there is a flickering light difficult to express to ordinary people. Truly, this matter lies in knowing and believing for oneself, like a mute tasting sweetness or bitterness— how can it truly be spoken? I send you the recorded sayings of Dahui— may you often study and reflect upon them. I hope you will walk hand in hand with this old master, until even buddhas and patriarchs step aside. Lately, I have been engaged in moonlit-water practice halls and flower-like empty buddha-work, following what appears as shadows and echoes. Once the adornments are in order, I shall welcome your staff and sandals, and together we shall ascend the Dharma hall. My right arm has long been unresponsive, unable to write openly for all. This one word is offered for all to hear.
